UC ANR Programmatic Footprint Maps

• The purpose of these maps is to illustrate the current existing and the under recruitment UC ANR programmatic footprint for CE Advisors, CE Specialists, other CE Academics, and Community Educator Specialists.
• This information can illuminate gaps and needs to inform UCCE position proposal development and future hiring.
• The program areas are aggregates of Program Teams and were informed by VP Humiston’s Budget-Staffing Needs - Senate Response (Laird report).
• The program area maps include UC ANR UC Cooperative Extension people who indicated working in these areas, those who are part of statewide programs and beyond. For example the Youth Development map includes those formally part of the California 4-H Youth Development Program as well as others who work with youth. Refer to titles to see who is formally part of statewide programs. For example, those that list 4-H or Youth Families and Communities in their titles are part of the California 4-H Youth Development Program
• The project is a collaboration between Informatics and Geographic Information Systems (IGIS), Resource Planning and Management (RPM), and Program Planning and Evaluation (PPE), along with the county offices and statewide programs as represented by Vice Provost Mark Bell.

Data Details

Headcount and Total FTE reflect current employees; the active footprint. Recruitment includes the headcount for positions that are under recruitment and to be recruited.

To add/change your title, discipline, and specialty - please see the Update your Profile webpage.

CE Specialists with campus merit/promotion

• Updated to remove separations and add new hires quarterly every March, June, September, and December once UC Path data is available for January, April, July, and October.
• Program Area designations are self-selected in Project Board.

CE Advisors and Other Academics with ANR merit/promotion

• Separations updated quarterly every March, June, September, and December once UC Path data is available for January, April, July, and October.
• New hires are added throughout the year.
• Program Area designations, and county FTE when applicable, are self-selected in Project Board.
• There are several academics in this category who are not required to enter information into Project Board, their Program Area designations are determined using UC ANR website information.

Project Board Users – If you want to change how you appear on the maps, log into Project Board. The updates you make will appear on the maps the following day.

• To change which program maps you appear on – change your Program Area selections in the Project Board FTE tab: Condition Change FTE module
• To change the counties you appear in and/or your FTE for any county (for academics with county assignments only) – change your county FTE in the Project Board FTE tab: County FTE module

Community Education Specialists

• Updated to remove separations and add new hires annually every March using January data.
• Program Area designations are determined using UC ANR website information and director feedback.
• These staff are displayed on the county contribution map based on their location in UC Path.

CE Academic positions released or under recruitment

• Updated as positions are released. Once Position Vacancy Announcements are developed further information is added to the maps.
• Program Area designations, and county FTE for CE Advisors, are estimated by UC ANR based on available position vacancy announcements and proposals.
